Well Michele,

Welcome to the Haitians state of the art curruption, incompetence, and mediocre system of the world.

They are waiting to get paid first and everyone working in that custom must get a piece of the pie. Sometime they hold cargos on those ports purposely so you can walk away from by frustration and so they can take posession of them. This is the classical way Haitians in charge of anything in Haiti steal from everyone.

My friend shiped a truck to Haiti that he bought for $8,000 US and he was charged $15,000 US to take it out of custom.

Another friend who sent for his son to get a Haitian passport in Haiti, had to pay $250, which is the cost of the passport but had to pay three other employees $30 US each in order to get the passport after almost 2 months.

This is the Haiti we're talking about.

I doubt it very much if you're ever going to get these containers out of custom.

All I can do is wishing you good luck!
