Two strong earthquakes have struck the Coral Sea region of the Pacific Ocean.
A 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck Efate Island in the Republic of Vanuatu at 05:55 GMT at a depth of 30 Km.
A second powerful undersea earthquake of 7.0 magnitude struck off the South Pacific Island of Vanuatu at a depth of 28.5 kilometers at 07: 19 GMT.
Its epicenter was 69 Km south-southwest of Vanuatu capital of Port-Vila.
5.9, 5.6 and 5.0 aftershocks were recorded according to the US Geological Survey
No tsunami warning is in effect.

ON THE FORECAST TRACK...IRENE WILL PASS THROUGH THE
LEEWARD ISLANDS EARLY SUNDAY...AND MOVE INTO THE NORTHEASTERN
CARIBBEAN SEA ON SUNDAY.
IRENE COULD APPROACH THE DOMINICAN
REPUBLIC LATE MONDAY.
