A Message For President Michel Martelly

Pierre D - April 5 2011, 9:32 PM

Dear President Martelly,

So many have failed us, please don't take us for granted.

People have died to vote for change.

You have promised so much. I hope you can invest in education to help those children and in innovation to lift the face of Haiti which has been tarnished for so long. Corruption should also be on your list, for it has become institutionalized.

Create a path for those middle class folks leaving abroad so that they can come home and help their country.

Too many talents, degrees the country can benefit from but too scared to come home. Security, jobs, shelter, hospitals, the list is so long. I guess you get the point.

Please allow capable people with track records to help your government and not apprentices or amigos who are in just to get rich quick.

The Dominican republic is laughing at us, we have so much to prove.

I wish you and your future government good luck and try hard to avoid the shame list.

Pierre
