A Message For President Michel Martelly

Mario Jean-louis - April 6 2011, 10:09 PM

Dear President Martelly,

Dear President elect,

It was really good to see how you have administered a great campaign taking you directly to the presidency.

I support you and hope and pray that you will use the same discipline and leadership to bring the changes you promised. One of the important aspects is the right of double nationality in the hope that the people living in the diaspora retains the right to vote and/or participate in haitian affairs.

Aristide could have changed Haiti but chose the wrong path. You are perhaps our second chance for a better Haiti.

Stay true to yourself and put a solid program in place for continuity since not all the work can be done and accomplished in 5 years.

I am not a politician and would not dare advise you in politics but I can provide assistance as a volunteer in public works as an Engineer to lay ground work for infrastructure in Haiti such as roads, irrigation, geotechnical and the environment.

I am currently the Director for the Bureau of Environmental and Geotechnical Services for the New York City Department of Design and Construction.

My goal is to share my experience with the department of "travaux publics" as a volunteer.

Haiti has formed me through the doors of the College Canado Haitien and anything I can do to give back to Haiti will give me great satisfaction and much peace.

I wish you good luck with my best regards to you and Roro Nelson, a friend du club sportif Saint-Louis.

Mario Jean-Louis
