A Message For President Michel Martelly

Debbie Jean Jacques - April 8 2011, 4:20 PM

Dear President Martelly,
First and formost, congrats on winning this election.

Being of high power comes a lot of reponsibility and reading some of the changes you want to bring to Haiti are very good, like the ECCOG plan, reducing Haiti's carbon foot print is one idea I was hoping someone would bring to the nation.

And yet there's so much that needs to be done, such as reconstruction, education, health care, and housing.

All those changes won't happen over night and by having a good executive board behind you is ofcourse a must. I will admit that before I wasn't for anyone for this race, I heard it all, but came to a conclusion that Haiti needs change and if those politically candidates haven't been doing a good job since I was born maybe it is the right thing to start fresh.

Todays generations needs guidance, a good education system that will compete with the USA, Europe, and Asia and show that "our" students can compete with those over seas. Free education will be a vital plan to touch especially when "we're" so use of every school public or private to have tuitions, make public schools simply public-no fees attach is the better way to go, as the gov't will handle payments for teachers and such. As for private schools, they can remain as they are, because they will never change their system.

Better roads needs to built, bridges to connect Haiti's isle. The idea of having a labor wage law could be applies, since most jobs are found in factory that pays no more than $3.00 a day, first & second world countries should be restricted when it comes to labor laws.
With free health care following what Europe does like France, Sweden and others having high tax rate, which now jobs will have to be created, whether from white color jobs to blue colors, proving jobs whether from teachers, senators, doctors, real estate employers, or so much much, Haiti's needs to improve the strength of the "dollar"/"good" whether that we implement american currency or keep our own and make it stronger, it needs to happen.

I believe that tourism will bring lots of profit especially to the economy of Haiti, which businesses will be made available to artist that I've notice would sell their work on the street for a low profit when it'll worth so much more and be sold overseas.

I have so much ideas and just hoping that Haiti can redeem itself for the past to attract tourist, to bring pride for new generations, and can shut those ignorant people who happen to be bias towards Haitians.

I could write so much more but wouldn't want to take up your time.
Good Luck and if anything or anyway I can help I'm always here to lend a hand to my country.

Sincerely,
Debbie Jean Jacques
