I would like to ask you questions about crime and violence in Haiti

Mr Martelly,

Belated congratulations on you election.

I am a reporter from the United States and my colleague and I are doing stories on Haiti.

Would it be possible to ask you some questions?

You have a unique and important viewpoint which we wish to include in our story.

I have been in touch with the Unites States Embassy, getting in touch with the United Nations entities in Port Au Prince.

My colleague is running with the group OPTK at the moment.

About us: we're both freelance journalists based in the United States, but he comes from Costa Rica and I from the Philippines, so I dare to say we probably have a different perspective on the issues of poor countries that are also prone to political and environmental upheaval than most western media.

My colleague's work has appeared in many Latin American publications, while mine has been mostly in the United States.

Forgive us for not revealing too much personal information about ourselves, as I believe this is a public posting, but I can definitely give you more information and credentials as required.

Thanks for your time.
