How To Build The Economy

Christian Mcnally - March 22 2012, 11:30 PM

Dear Mr. President: My ideas to you are, first of all, to look for a company that provides mass transit such as a train, to operate in the region of Carrefour to the capital, plus another one from the capital to Petionville, and then from Croix des Bouquet to the capital, and vice versa from all these sectors.

Such a system in the short and long run will provide alot of jobs to boost the economy.

Once you communicate with a company abroad to do that for you, you will need to build hotels to accomodate the engineers, troubleshooters and their workers that will be coming in the country.

We have a train system in Los Angeles, CA. I remember how bad traffic was before the train system was established.

Once the system was applied, traffic diminished considerably.

Secondly, a good transportation system needs to be at the airport.

A company needs to have a visible logo on it and be equally visible to tourists and citizens.

I believe such message was sent to you in my previous letter about how to operate the airport efficiently.

I will elaborate a little on this subject.

A booth needs to be put in place and a fee needs to be paid by each driver leaving the airport.

Insurance for hire also needs to be paid by each driver.

Such funds will help clean the airport area and also several jobs will be available in this aspect.

Thirdly, Haiti needs a mall with a good company like Sears as an anchor to other smaller stores, which will automatically remove most of the people selling clothes and wares on the streets.

A good area for such a mall, in my view, is where the new prison is being constructed near Kanaran, where the new road meets Route National 1 going north.

That also will provide alot of jobs. Fourthly, the gas problem that we have in the country from time to time should not be acceptable.

It's either that Haiti is not dealing with the right company, or they are playing politics with the gas, and that is not acceptable.

The gas company should be penalized if they refuse to sell gas to the public.

I will not fill up your head, but I give you these 4 subjects to consider.

If you put them into practice, the economy will improve overnight.

When I do send a message to President Obama, he replies and thanks me many times, and I have some of his letters to prove it. I hope one day you can do the same. Good luck.
