A Message For President Michel Martelly

Pierre Leon - April 11 2011, 12:09 AM

Dear President Martelly,

As the elections results were made public, I had this overwhelming sense of relief.

For the first time in 27 years I felt that I no longer had to figure out how to get to be elected president of Haiti to bring hope to the land.

You have got that responsibility.

Now I have the responsibility of assisting you and see that your choice to lead is the right choice as millions of Haitians like you and I, want the same thing; the same country.

You are not alone with this dream and this desire.

You are part of a majority who want nothing less than the prosperity of this great nation of greater people.

I have no doubt in my mind that you are going to inspire the country to think big. You are going to inspire the nation to accept the responsibility of being a great nation with a great history.

You are going to remind us that we are at the intersection to decide wether we are going to accept the stigma of incompetence or to turn our sail in the wind and rise to the occasion and be counted as Haitians.

Mr. President-elect, it is said that one must lead, follow or get out of the way. In addition to the voices that you are familiar to hear around you in the capital and throughout the country, there as many unspoken men and women cheering for you deep in their suffering hearts to whom you represent their dreams and their successes.

We are confident that you will develop, rather quickly, the ability to filter noises and sort out the positivity in what you hear. I am also certain that you will continue to be whom you have been that brought you to the front row and take the lead. The people had chosen you.

Show the way. If you need help, I am right behind you. Don't even need to look, I am going to be right here all the way.

Respectfully,

Pierre Leon.
