Bring Change and hopes for our country

Michel Laurent - May 15 2011, 3:04 AM

Dear President Martelly, I would like to congradulate you to your new post and position as President.

I have lived outside my country for many years and it is sad to say that every year that I travel back for vacation, I am very sad to see my country in the state that each president and the government has placed it, in ruins.

Their pockets are the only thing that they think about while the people suffer, the chlidren have no education, no respect or foudation to build our future, the street are dirty and poorly paved.

The country that I am so proud of, fought the French for its independence and became the sole island that instituted (frredom from slavery and terany) the rest of the islands to gain their independent.

When are we going to say enough is enough so other nations can look at us a human beings with respect not as animals with a crooked government.

We need to gain our respect back and make our land the PEARL OF THE INDIES as it used to be when I grew up there.

I would like to go back and live and enjoy the rest of my days on this earth, not in the United States where we are talked about as dogs with no training or education.

I was in the military and worked as a senior linguist during the peacefull invasion of Haiti in 1994. I saw how the United States Military soldiers treated our people with disrespect and lowered themselves to doing things of humiliations that I could not digest.

I spoke and defended my people and the situation that they were in, looking for change and finance to take care of their selfves and feeding their family.

I endured their pain as well in 1992 and 1994 at Guntanamo Bay Cuba. President Martely the job ahead is rough and hard to fight this uphill battle that will save our future.

The people put you there because their hopes and dreams are dying and now they are looking for a Masaiha to lead them through the desert and tell them they have arrived and its going to get better.

Mr. President education is the key to bring our people arround, to rebuild the infrastructure we need public not private education and commerce back gods knows they need it, be the last stop. The way I see it, we have the haves and the have not. The have get to send their kids obroad for their education and we have th have not the poor, the less fortunate.

Its slavery all over again no matter how you look at it with the rest avect its not fair. They have their hopes as well as I, unite us and make us strong.

I have served with your some of your relatives in the military and they have strong character, I hope you are the same. Good luck and best wishes to you and your staff.
